I imagine stories, but I do not write them down. Instead, I paint them and thus bring them closer to the viewers. It is about self-expression and changing perspectives, but also about breaking out of familiar thought patterns. I usually use bold colors to visualize the world of emotions and to emphasize certain content. Time and space also have a special meaning in my pictures. Both dimensions are difficult to grasp and therefore offer endless possibilities for interpretation. I learned the ancient technique of painting with hot wax many years ago and am still fascinated by its multifaceted applications. Over time, I have specialized in editing photographs in this way to create new perspectives. Straightforwardness, order, and structured work are important qualities for me in everyday life. While painting, I do not always stick to such rules and like to experiment, for example by working with ink and watercolor. For me, the camera is a unique tool to capture what I see as a photograph, in order to subsequently create a work of art from it in a completely individual way. The possibilities for this are limitless. The wonderful thing about art is – it is not real – it only becomes real through our imagination.
