Alyn Smith, then a Scottish MEP, told the European Parliament in 2019:
“We celebrate international solidarity and freedom of movement. If the European Union didn't exist, we would have to invent something like this and Scotland would be part of it."
He concluded by saying:
“Dear colleagues, I am not asking you to resolve our internal discussions. I ask you to leave a light on so we can find our way home."
To commemorate a culturally independent Scotland in the heart of Europe, the artist group AiM is organizing two consecutive art exhibitions:

2023 - WE'LL LEAVE A LIGHT ON, Galerie CIARUS in Strasbourg, the political center of Europe
2024 - PLEASE LEAVE A LIGHT ON, Dunoon Burgh Hall in Dunoon, Scotland

EXHIBITION - April 19th - May 5th, 2024
Dunoon Burgh Hall
195 Argyll Street
Dunoon PA23 7DD

TEkkehard Gorski 2oday I visited, Ekkehard Gorski, the sponsor of our project, and presented him a gift from our artist group.Ekkehard Gorski 5
It is the amazing sculpture "CONSTIPATED SAVAGE" by Bill Williamson which was also on display at the Dunoon Burgh Hall.
Mr. Gorski and his wife were very happy with the gift and enthusiastically added the work of art to their collection.
I would also like to thank you, dear Bill, from the bottom of my heart for donating your artwork!
